POSITION: Executive Chef
DEPARTMENT: Savor
REPORTS TO: Director of Food and Beverage
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Chef at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell, VA. The Executive Chef manages and directs the preparing and cooking of foods to ensure high quality food service.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to act as salesperson to help sell catering events.
• Order and receive all food products.
• The position requires the ability to review and design menus.
• Possess vast knowledge of food and be able to successfully execute platted dinners, large upscale buffets, and receptions.
• The candidate should have a grasp of food costing/inventory analysis, sales skills, technically sound cooking and an overall good demeanor.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A culinary degree is preferred.
• Experience in high volume, upscale catering or the equivalent in higher end restaurants is preferred.
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and culinary operations is essential for this position.
• This position requires flexible hours that will vary due to events.
