Summary:
Manages all Food & Beverage Catering activities for events by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

• Plans and organizes all catering functions provided on sales orders. 
• Conducts cold calls to secure new business 
• Executes all catering functions, banquet services, and booth service. 
• Confers with food preparation and other personnel to plan menus and related activities such as dining room, bar and banquet operations. 
• Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints. 
• Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation and expenditures to include labor. 
• Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
During some events, may be assigned employees to manage executive suites and would carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; coordinating issues with Food and Beverage Operations team and culinary staff. Addresses client or customer complaints promptly and resolves problems.

Qualifications: Catering sales in high catering volume environment
Must have excellent communications skills (Verbal and written)
Must be very organize
Have the ability to multi-task
Convention services experience is required
Excellent follow up and follow through skills.

Education and/or Experience:  

• Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Food & Beverage Management or related field preferred 
• Minimum 5 years experience in management level position in Food & Beverage or training 
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior supervisory experience preferred

• Strong customer service orientation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
