The SMG-managed BOK Center is once again nominated for the 2014 Pollstar Arena of the Year award. This is the sixth consecutive year the BOK Center received a nomination by the publication including 2009 Best New Major Concert Venue and consecutive nominations for Arena of the Year. In 2012, General Manager John Bolton also received Pollstar’s prestigious Facility Executive of the Year Award.
“We are honored to be recognized as one the best venues in the world by our industry peers. The BOK Center has continued to prove that Tulsa, Oklahoma is an exceptional market for live entertainment and a must-play for concerts and events,” said SMG General Manager John Bolton.
The past year was highlighted by the BOK Center’s fifth anniversary celebration commemorated with a five part concert series featuring Sir Paul McCartney (two shows), Blake Shelton, Eagles, Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Buffett. In fiscal year 2013, the BOK Center celebrated its most successful year financially since opening.
Tulsa’s arena joins a distinguished group of nominees including Barclays Center (Brooklyn, NY), Bridgestone Arena (Nashville, TN), Madison Square Garden (New York, NY), SAP Center at San Jose (San Jose, CA) and Staples Center (Los Angeles, CA).
