John Bolton, SMG Regional Vice President and General Manager of the BOK Center, and Jeff Nickler, Assistant General Manager of the BOK Center, were selected as Venues Today Hall of Headlines winners in Bookings for creating the BOK Center’s 5th Anniversary Concert Series.
To commemorate the venue’s fifth anniversary, Bolton and Nickler created an anniversary concert series with five blockbuster acts. The celebration included six sold-out shows: two back-to-back Paul McCartney performances, Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Buffett, the Eagles and native Oklahoman Blake Shelton. The Eagles and Paul McCartney had also served as the venue’s opening act and first anniversary performance, respectively.
“Jeff and I are extremely proud to be recognized by our industry peers for the Hall of Headlines awards,” Bolton said. “Since opening the doors five years ago, the BOK Center has continued to break all stereotypes of what is possible in smaller markets. We are grateful to the artists, managers and promoters who continue to bring the top concerts and events to the BOK Center and to area ticket buyers for their never-ending support when it’s time to buy tickets.”
Bolton, Nickler and the other Hall of Headline winners will be honored in the publication’s December issue. Bolton is now a two-time Hall of Headlines winner. In 2008, he was also honored in the Bookings category.
