‘Five’ is Number of the Week for SMG-Managed Big Sandy Superstore Arena

HUNTINGTON, W.Va— Five seems to be the lucky number for the SMG-managed Big Sandy Superstore Arena this week. On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown Tour became the 5th highest-grossing show in the venue’s history with reported sales of $354,734. On Wednesday, the Big Sandy Superstore Arena landed the No. 5 spot in the Venues Today publication “Hot Tickets” for venue seating capacity category 5,001-10,000 seats for the Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown Tour, according to the facility’s director of marketing, Veronica Hordubay. Venues Today is a leading international trade publication that covers the business side of entertainment and sports, particularly as it relates to venues. Hot Tickets is a weekly summary of the top acts and ticket sales as reported to VT Pulse.

“Five Finger Death Punch/Shinedown was another amazing night of entertainment in Huntington, WV and a huge win for the fans of the Big Sandy Superstore arena,” said General Manager Rik Edgar. “Three of the top-five highest grossing shows in the venue’s 39-year history have taken place in 2016 – Kiss, Def Leppard, and Five Finger Death Punch/Shinedown.

“My team made a promise to our fans that we would listen to what they wanted, and asked in return that they support our concerts,” Edgar continued. “It is working. The fans have broken records and we are attracting some of the best touring shows in the nation. We are making Huntington a ‘must-stop’ destination for concert tours.”
