SMG-Managed Venues Pick Up 13 NCAA Championship Events

West Conshohocken, PA (April 24, 2017) – SMG is proud to announce the NCAA has selected twelve SMG-managed venues to serve as host sites for NCAA tournaments and championships.

The breakdown of SMG-managed facilities hosting the tournaments is as follows:

Men’s NCAA Basketball

Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena (Jacksonville, FL) – 2019 – 1st & 2nd rounds

BOK Center (Tulsa, OK) – 2019 – 1st and 2nd rounds

Times Union Center (Albany, NY) – 2020 – 1st and 2nd rounds

Intrust Bank Arena (Wichita, KS) – 2021 – 1st and 2nd rounds

Dunkin’ Donuts Center (Providence, RI) – 2021 – 1st & 2nd rounds

Women’s NCAA Basketball

Times Union Center (Albany, NY) – 2020 – Regional

Wintrust Arena (Chicago, IL) – Regional

Men’s NCAA Hockey

Denny Sanford Premier Center (Sioux Falls, SD) – 2018 Regional

DCU Center (Worcester, MA) – 2018 Regional

SNHU Arena (Manchester, NH) – 2019 Regional

Dunkin’ Donuts Center (Providence, RI) – 2021 Regional

Indoor Track & Field

Albuquerque Convention Center – 2020 Championships


US Bank Stadium (Minneapolis, MN) – Final Four

“SMG is honored the NCAA once again has chosen SMG venues to serve as hosts sites,” said SMG President and CEO Wes Westley. “Having the NCAA recognize SMG venues past success in serving as host sites is a tribute to our venues and dedicated staff that will provide a first-class experience for the NCAA and the student athletes competing in these championships,” added Westley.

SMG recently hosted the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final 4 in Glendale, Arizona at the University of Phoenix Stadium and is set to host the NCAA Men’s Final 4 in Minneapolis at US Bank Stadium in 2019.

The NCAA made the announcement April 18. Sites were selected by the respective sport committees, made up of coaches and administrators from NCAA member schools and conferences, and ultimately approved by the appropriate division championship cabinets or committees.
