(Tulsa, Okla.) January 25, 2014 – SMG Special Events welcomed thousands of wing lovers to the inaugural Wingapalooza earlier today at the BOK Center. The event included 25 Tulsa-area restaurants serving specialty chicken wing recipes and vying for titles in several award categories. More than 80,000 wings were prepared and devoured during the one-day event. Guests also enjoyed live music by 90s cover band “My So Called Band.”

“Thank you wing lovers for coming down to the BOK Center and supporting this first-year event,” said John Bolton, SMG Regional Vice President. “The enthusiasm for this event was overwhelming. We are already looking at ways to grow Wingapalooza next year.”

Congratulations to Fat Guys Burgers, who were crowned ‘Lord of the Wings’ Overall Best Wing winner.

“Thanks to the BOK Center for putting on this great event,” said Mike Meehan, owner of Fat Guys Burgers. “We were honored to participate in the inaugural event, and hope to be in it every year. Of course next year we’ll be in the crosshairs with a target on our back since we were picked as ‘Lord of the Wings’ for 2014.”
