CAMBRIA COUNTY WAR MEMORIAL AUTHORITY UNANIMOUSLY APPROVES MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT WITH SMG FOR ARENA AND RECREATION CENTER

JOHNSTOWN, PA – SMG President & CEO, Wes Westley, and War Memorial Authority Chairman, Jack Steeves, are proud to announce that the Cambria County War Memorial Authority has voted unanimously to grant a management contract for the Cambria County War Memorial Arena and the North Central Recreational Center (“NCRC”) to SMG, the world leader in facility management.

Chairman Steeves stated, “The Authority has confidence that residents of Cambria County and throughout Western Central Pennsylvania will benefit from the high-quality services and unique combination of resources, relationships, and expertise that SMG will bring to the Arena and the NCRC.  These residents can expect to experience exciting new concerts, family shows, sporting and other events, modern computerized ticketing, heightened community involvement, and high levels of operational and customer service at the facilities.”

SMG President & CEO, Wes Westley stated, “The Cambria County War Memorial Arena and the North Central Recreational Center are perfect fits for SMG.  All of us at SMG are delighted with this opportunity. We look forward to working closely with the Authority, Cambria County, the City of Johnstown and the Western Central Pennsylvania community to provide the finest in what facility management has to offer. The Cambria County War Memorial Arena, a 6,000-seat venue located in Johnstown Pennsylvania, is now in its 55th year of service to the local community of Western Central Pennsylvania.  During that time the Arena has been host to more than 5 million visitors for various entertainment, sporting and community events.  The Arena serves as home to the Johnstown Chiefs hockey team.  Opened in 2003, the North Central Recreational Center is a new, modern recreational ice facility which provides a high quality experience for local hockey teams and skaters, as well as playing host to various trade shows, meetings, banquets and expositions.
